Designing a webpage

I’m apparently anal — and specific — about my website designs. Because when it came time to redesign my blog or personal website, I balked; I liked them the way they are.

First, a little justification: I worked in online media for a while, and the people visiting my website had seen every bell and whistle there ever was on a portfolio page. So to give them a refreshing break, I used simple html to create my personal page.

That said, I decided to create a webpage for a project in the Winter Show — and here it is.

I embedded a Vimeo video into the webpage, with a split background. However, I’m finding that the background doesn’t match up with the video on all browsers, so that may be a problem. I’ll keep working…

On another note, this was the first time I really delved into CSS. And it seems to make a lot of logical sense, although I think I’ll need a little more time before I feel fully comfortable with the code. As far as HTML, I feel pretty comfortable with it — as long as I can Google whatever I need, for reference.

A better website: My friends made a webpage to surprise me for my birthday. Did not see this coming. At first, when they presented this in class, I was scared because I thought it truly was my middle school website, which exists somewhere on the internet — I think. But then there was a song and a cake… and an LED crown! Good people, good people.
